It’s Fair Time!

Growing up in 4H and FFA, I not only learned skills like archery, raising animals, canning vegetables, shooting sports and leatherwork, for example. But, I also learned important skills like public speaking, running a meeting, taking notes, and leadership development. There were also lessons in finance, accounting, and record-keeping. All of these skills have served me in my adult life.
As a college student, I raised and sold hogs to pay my tuition. I owe some of those skills to the lessons learned in 4H and FFA. In my professional life, I continue to use public speaking, leadership, and record-keeping skills to this day.
As this year's 4H and FFA students show their hard work for the year, I hope you will be there to look at their exhibits, pat them on the back for a job well-done, and support the concession stand and sale. We will be there, too.
